- Reaching out to the homeless is not something that I ever dreamed of God calling me to do. Many years ago I felt that possibly, God was calling me to preach the gospel in the streets, but to regular people… not to the homeless. What I learned is that I was wrong about everything. Homeless people are real people! God has blessed me through tragedies he has allowed me to suffer in order to prepare me for the road I was called to travel. This was an answer to my own prayer, “God, send me to the ones no one can reach” A.W. Tozer said, “It’s doubtful whether God can bless a man greatly until he has hurt him deeply”. I truly believe that God calls each of us to minister to the people we can relate to. People who have suffered the same kind of suffering we have. How can you help someone if you can’t understand what their walking through?
